Join us for a discussion of how diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) strategies can be applied to support international students on campus. Panelists from public and private institutions, as well as the private sector, will share their expertise and case studies from their work with international students. Part of the EducationUSA Dialogues mini-series on DEIA, this webinar builds on the discussion of opportunities for mutually beneficial coordination between campus leaders engaged in international education and DEIA programming.
This webinar is open to representatives of accredited U.S. higher education institutions and other industry stakeholders including:
Educational consultants, recruitments agents, and pathway program staff currently under contract to represent at least one accredited U.S. postsecondary institution.
Associations whose membership includes representatives of accredited U.S. postsecondary institutions. Academic and English language testing organizations.

(Associate Provost for International Education, Diversity, and Inclusion @University of Portland) Eduardo Contreras is Associate Provost for International Education, Diversity, and Inclusion at the University of Portland, where he also teaches courses in higher education, intersectional identity, and intercultural understanding. Dr. Contreras serves as senior international and chief diversity officer at UP, and is a member of the Provost’s Council & President’s Leadership Cabinet. With nearly two decades in public and private U.S. higher education, Dr. Contreras is committed to equity and internationalization. His work has appeared extensively in conference presentations, higher ed media, book chapters, and peer-reviewed journals. He is an editor for Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad, 2022 chair of the Global Inclusion Conference, and faculty co-chair for the Management Development Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dr. Contreras has a BA and MA from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s and doctorate of education from Harvard. Ashley Green, Ph.D. (Assistant Dean of Administration and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion @Michigan State University) Ashley Green serves as Assistant Dean for Administration and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in International Studies and Programs (ISP) at Michigan State University. In this role, she provides leadership in the implementation and administration of international programs and global initiatives that advance and strengthen institutional research, outreach, and engagement. Dr. Green also serves as the Principal Investigator and Director of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, Fulbright Programs, and Peace Corps. As ISP’s DEI Director, Dr. Green works to ensure that the global dimension is integrated into campus DEI initiatives. She created and chairs a cross-campus Global DEI Task Force that develops campus resources to reinforce inclusive practices in a global context. She has led local, national, and international discussions, delivered conference presentations, authored articles and engaged in private consulting around DEI topics from a global lens. Keisha Che're Jimmerson, MBA (she/her/hers) (Associate Dean of Students for Diversity, Inclusion and International Student Services @Seton Hill University) Keisha Che’re Jimmerson serves as Associate Dean of Students for Diversity, Inclusion and International Student Services at Seton Hill University. Keisha is committed to supporting students through active roles on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, as advisor of the Multicultural and International Student Organization, the Black Student Union, and program coordinator and advisor for LGBTQ+ initiatives. Committed to growing and building relationships beyond Seton Hill’s campus community, Keisha frequently presents at local and regional conferences. As a member of the Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education, she participated in the 2019-2020 cohort of the institution for Educational Management and Leadership. Keisha received the YWCA Racial Justice Award in 2019 and serves as the secretary for the Greater Pittsburgh Higher Education Diversity Consortium. Keisha received a BA in Communications and an MBA from Seton Hill University. Jacquis Watters (she/her & they/themme) (Culture and Development Specialist @Getty Images) Jacquis currently works at Getty Images as a Culture and Development Specialist focused on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and initiatives. As a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner, I seek to amplify the creation of inclusive spaces that actively engage in affirming and celebrating people. I value bringing transparency, intentional reflection, and joy to these critical conversations that serve for the betterment of a community. Prior to working in a corporate space, Jacquis worked in higher education for more than 10 years, holding roles in residential life, international orientation, and multicultural affairs. Most recently, Jacquis served as Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs and Social Justice Programs at Columbia University and an instructor for a course offered by Diversity Abroad titled "Inclusive Advising for International Student & Exchange Professionals." They received a Bachelor’s from Hofstra University and Master’s from Seattle University.
